Launch of Student Award System (phase 2)

We are pleased to announce that the Student Award System (“SAS”) phase 2 will go-live on 31st August 2020.

The SAS aims to streamline and automate the workflows throughout the end-to-end process of student award payment, covering student award setup and maintenance, approval workflow and integration with other student award related systems.  It will replace the manual paper BR process and support the overall direction of University in digitalization and to promote paperless and sustainable campus as well.

The SAS can now cover the following types of student award payments.  More types will be added at a later stage.

  • Non-admission scholarship administered by SFAO
  • Hong Kong PhD fellowship Scheme
  • Asian Future Leaders Scholarship Program
  • Joint PhD Training Program
  • Postgraduate Studentship
  • Guangzhou Pilot Scheme

Major benefits of SAS include:

  • Enhance transparency of workflows (e.g. status of approval process);
  • Data input at source, eliminate repeated manual data input for large volume paper-form documents
  • Provide One-Stop service for enquiry / report generation on specific awardees information
  • Reduce administrative work such as budget request circulation for obtaining BCO’s signature

System demo clips / training guides to the system functions will be uploaded to the Learning Management System (https://training.ust.hk/) for easy reference by Department users.

System support will be provided by ISO and FO during system launched.  If you have any enquiry about SAS, please do not hesitate to contact:
